RESETTING ALL PROTOSOUND® OPTIONS TO FACTORY DEFAULTS

Conventional Reset Procedure

ProtoSounds® RESET feature (Feature 18) resets all programmable options back to their original factory settings. This is a useful feature if you find your engine not operating the way you think it should. To SET all the features back to their original factory settings, enter RESET Mode and go to Feature 18. Using the following steps:

NOTE: Make sure that the ProtoSound® battery is fully charged any time that you try to RESET program options

1.

Apply power to the track until the engine sounds two bells. Do not exceed 10 volts within the first 3 seconds. If you do not have a voltmeter apply just enough power to get the engine to sound 2 bell sounds. This is known as RESET MODE.

In RESET MODE move the throttle up & down from high voltage to low 18 times. After bringing the throttle down to low voltage, NOT OFF, you will here a “choosh” sound followed by a series of clinks and clanks. Clanks represent units of 1. Clinks represent groups of 5 clanks. Reset 18 is 3 clinks (5, 10, 15) and 3 clanks (16, 17, 18).

Listen for 3 Clank and 3 Clink Sounds. Reset 18 is 3 clinks (5, 10, 15) and 3 clanks (16, 17, 18). You are now in feature 18.

Once in Feature 18, press and release the Whistle Button and wait for the engine to sound a garbled bell (warbling sound). Press and release the Whistle Button one more time and wait for the engine to sound a clear bell (no garble).

5.

Interrupt the throttle (all the way off) to “lock-in” The Program feature 18 Setting.

6.

Let the engine shut down completely until you hear the “fart” sound letting you know that the battery circuit has cut power to the board.

RESETTING ALL PROTOSOUND® OPTIONS TO FACTORY DEFAULTS

Z4000 Reset Procedure

1.

With handles on the Z4000 in the OFF position, Press the “Program” button.

Press the WST/HRN (White or UP Arrow) button until the number 18 is displayed.

Press the BELL (Yellow or Select) button to initiate the reset program.

Once the program has reached 18 you will here a “choosh” sound followed by a series of clinks and clanks. Clanks represent units of 1. Clinks represent groups of 5 clanks. Reset 18 is 3 clinks (5, 10, 15) and 3 clanks (16, 17, 18).

If you get less than 18 you can press the UP arrow (White) button the number of times that the confirmation was short. Ex. if you hear 3 clinks and 1 clank you will need to press the UP (White) button 2 more times and press the Select (Yellow) button to send two more “chooshes” to the engine. The confirmation sequence will repeat and you should hear 3 clinks (5, 10, 15) and 3 clanks (16, 17, 18).
* If you hear clinks and clanks that represent a number higher than 18 you must restart the procedure from the beginning by pressing the Program (Black) button to exit.

Press the Select (Yellow) button to “Lock” in the reset command. You should hear a garbled bell. Press it one or more times until you hear a clear bell sound.

Press the “Program” (Black) button to exit the program mode and let the engine shut down completely until you hear the “fart” sound letting you know that the battery circuit has cut power to the board.
